Thinking about the functionality of my work I have come to realize that it all comes back to family. Perhaps my dinners sets would be used with a special meal when everyone gets together after traveling far distances to see each other. Growing up, I spent a lot of vacations traveling in a large van with my family across the United States. I was always intrigued by the scenery passing by, or at rest stops. I think that this is where a lot of my inspiration comes from, and also relates back to this idea of the family.
